Take the mystery out of growing begonias! Attend a workshop and let an expert show you about the culture of the begonia. See many of the different varieties of begonias that can be grown in San Diego. All aspects of begonia culture will be discussed including: how a good potting mix is made, what are appropriate growing conditions for the different begonias and how to propagate begonias. Enjoy a workshop in a beautiful setting and bring your begonia questions to someone with decades of experience and great enthusiasm for these beautiful plants. The plant above is Begonia "Dean Turney".
Biography:
Dean Turney, a retired engineer, will host and be the speaker for this workshop. Dean has been an active begonia collector for many years and is currently President of the Begonia Society of San Diego. He is also active in several other plant societies and is very knowledgeable about shade plants. His fascinating garden has many varieties of begonias, camellias, ferns, and other shade loving plants.
Please park on the street. You may bring camera and notebook.
