GROWING PROTEAS with Daniel MacDonald of Mt Woodson Flora

Daniel and his partner, Steve, are originally from Canada. They bought land near Lake Sutherland, Ramona and built a small house there in 2009. At that point, they intended to be snowbirds - spending winters in Ramona and summers back in Canada. Also in 2009, they came across a magnificent property and protea farm that they fell in love with on the northwest slope of Mt Woodson. After buying the property in 2011, they immigrated to the US in 2016 and have lived here full time since. Daniel knew nothing about proteas when they first bought the property but have learned about growing and propagating proteas from other growers, books, and YouTube.

We meet the third Saturday of the month at 1:30p at
San Diego Oasis in Rancho Bernardo.

FYI - Our new bigger meeting room at Oasis is The Innovation Center on the lower level.
