Su Kraus, Moosa Creek Nursery

Manzanitas & More - Creating Garden Structure with Natives

Zoom meeting!  Meeting connection link

Join Su Kraus of Moosa Creek Nursery to learn how utilizing hardy, evergreen native shrubs creates the all important backbone of your garden. The wildlife benefits and bloom cycle of native shrubs add interest and activity to the garden. Su finishes the presentation with helpful hints on how to select your plants and where to find them!

Su Kraus is owner and joint founder of Moosa Creek Nursery, a wholesale nursery specializing in California native plants. In 2004 when the nursery was conceived, nobody expected it to become one of Southern California’s premier native plant nurseries -  least of all, Su!  Intended as a retirement project, the nursery quickly became an overriding passion and today the Moosa Creek team grows over 400 species and varieties of California native plants. As manager of the nursery Su has guided many projects to successful fruition, including large scale restoration projects such as the Stadium Wetlands project in San Diego, the restoration and landscaping portion of Robertson Ranch in Carlsbad and freeway planting projects on many of San Diego’s freeways for Caltrans. Additionally, Moosa Creek Nursery has been on a mission to make California’s native plants more easily available and accessible to Southern California’s gardeners through its network of retail nursery partners.

Su Kraus has a degree from University of Warwick, UK and a masters in International Business from University of Buckinghamshire, UK. Su had a background in business, and raised 4 wonderful children with husband Hank, before California natives took over her life.

The meeting  recording will be available online at  San Diego Horticultural Society's YouTube channel the week following the live presentation.
