School Garden Grant Program

Empowering the Next Generation of Gardeners

The San Diego Horticultural Society is proud to support the youth of San Diego County by helping schools bring gardens to life! Through our School Garden Grant Program, we’re offering funding to help students experience the joy, learning, and community connection that comes from growing their own garden.

Grants Available:

  • 1 school will receive $1,000

  • 2 schools will each receive $500

These funds can be used for plants, soil, tools, raised beds, irrigation, or other supplies needed to start or enhance a school garden.

Key Dates:

  • Applications due: February 10, 2026

  • Recipients notified: March 2026

  • Funds must be spent within 6 months of award
