New Member Orientation - By Invitation only
New members of the San Diego Horticultural Society are invited to an orientation meeting.
At this casual event new members meet some of our board members, some of our long-time members, as well as other new members.
It is a fun couple of hours in a lovely garden and a fine way for you to find out more about the San Diego Horticultural Society, what we do, plans we have for the future and make some new friends.
We are pleased to have Susan and Frank Oddo in Elfin Forest -Near Escondido - host this fun event at their garden:
Birdsong Botanic Garden
In transition since 1995, the garden is an artistically designed environment using a large plant palette of shade trees, shrubs, succulents, cactus, palms, yuccas, cycads, and Mediterranean plants, winter and spring bulbs, roses, and fruit trees. In the many outdoor rooms you will find tranquil seating areas and a variety of whimsical works of art. The garden also includes a large koi pond and vegetable garden.
Frank and Susan won the auction of the Roadster sculpture featured in the SD Horticultural Society display garden at the 2011 San Diego County Fair. You can see the roadster displayed in their garden.
Our Vision To champion regionally appropriate horticulture in San Diego County.
