Gardening for Birds, Hummingbirds & Butterflies & Planting on a Slope
Ideas for attracting birds, hummingbirds and butterflies to your garden will be shared in this workshop that takes place in a certified wildlife habitat garden. The class will begin with the speaker discussing the benefits of attracting these creatures to our gardens, followed by the sharing of ideas of what humans can provide in the way of plants that provide food, nectar and shelter and why not to use pesticides in your garden. A tour of the speaker’s hillside terraced garden will show examples of gardening on a slope and plants that attract birds and butterflies. This garden is featured in the April 2013 issue of San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine.
