Garden Design and Remodel
Learn the important considerations in the design of a new, or the remodel of an old, garden. The workshop host’s garden will be used to illustrate the design process associated with a remodel. The host is aiming for a natural design, without fancy hardscaping, that mixes vegetables, flowers, and trees, attracts butterflies, bees, and birds, and is inviting for large parties.
Instructor: Kathryn Parker
This workshop will be led by garden expert Kathryn Parker, who has had a distinguished science career and currently teaches at Grossmont and City Colleges. She has channeled her 40 years of gardening enthusiasm and expertise into a successful garden design business that focuses on attaining a sustainable, edible, and drought-tolerant landscape using succulents, native plants, and lawn alternatives.
