This presentation explores toxic plants (and beyond!) that are commonly around in our gardens and natural landscapes in San Diego County.
Learn how to recognize harmful species, understand
their effects on the human body, and gain practical tips for staying safe while enjoying the outdoors. Perfect for gardeners, hikers, and nature lovers alike, this talk blends botanical insight with real-world medical perspective.
Dr. Megan Tresenriter is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with nearly a decade of experience treating everything from heart attacks to rattlesnake bites—sometimes all in one shift. In addition to her medical expertise, Megan is a dedicated gardener and plant enthusiast and has developed a deep appreciation for the botanical world—both its beauty and its dangers.
The newly reinstituted Plant Forum (to learn more, please read the Plant Forum article by Susi Torre-Bueno in this newsletter) will be for the in-person meeting attendees only. However, we are looking for a volunteer videographer to record the monthly Plant Forum for our Youtube channel. (Want to volunteer to video the Plant Forum for our YouTube Channel or learn more about what is needed to do this for the Society? It might be helpful to know that once a video is uploaded to our Dropbox account the videographer's job is done and others will do any editing needed and the uploading and posting to YouTube. Contact Karen England info@sdhort.org to help with doing this.)
Unless otherwise stated, we meet the third Saturday of the month at 1:30p atSan Diego Oasis in Rancho Bernardo, 17170 Bernardo Center Dr., San Diego, CA 92128.
